“The wooden blocks”
2012
CUeB Gallery (London)
127 acrylic painted wooden blocks
Installation about the beauty and diversity of the natural world we live in.
Born and raised in Moscow, Maria's work aims to increase public awareness of the beauty and diversity of the natural world we live in. It is this environment that inspires Maria's work. The changes of seasons, the blossoming of nature and the constant transformations become for Maria symbols of love, happiness, purity and life.
Her painted jungle cubes are a mix of flowers and trees from all over the world, an impenetrable forest that shows the harmony of people, animals and nature together; that shows the beauty of being.
With her work, she invites us to pay more attention to Nature and to look closely at every single tree, leaf or flower as unique and beautiful creations.
Her installation piece exclusively created for cueB gallery is a tall, stylised Northern Pine tree made out of 127 hand painted cubes, one on top of each other".
